About Us
Zaruba Jewelry is the studio practice of metalsmith Andrew Zaruba, where traditional craftsmanship meets modern design.
Each piece begins with hand-drawn patterns and evolves through a blend of hand fabrication, selective studio casting, and ancient surface fusion techniques. At the heart of the work is Keum Boo — the process of permanently fusing pure 24k gold to sterling silver — creating flowing gold lines that move naturally across sculpted silver forms.
Designs are inspired by organic movement, natural textures, and quiet geometry. Gold patterns ripple across the surface of silver, forming jewelry that feels strong yet intimate — bold enough to make a statement and refined enough for everyday wear.
Every piece is carefully shaped, assembled, patinated, and finished by hand in our New York studio. While some elements may begin as cast forms for sculptural consistency, each piece undergoes extensive hand finishing to ensure no two works are ever exactly alike.
We believe jewelry should carry meaning beyond decoration. Each finished piece reflects time, patience, and intention — wearable art created to connect the wearer to genuine craftsmanship.
Materials & Craft
We work primarily with:
-
Sterling silver, fabricated and selectively cast
-
24k gold foil, permanently fused using Keum Boo techniques
-
Natural gemstones, chosen for color, character, and uniqueness
All jewelry is designed and produced entirely in-house, with no outsourced manufacturing or mass production. Variations between pieces are not imperfections — they are the signature of handmade work.
Our Philosophy
Zaruba Jewelry is created for those who value authenticity, individuality, and understated strength.
Rather than chasing trends, our focus is on timeless form and honest materials — jewelry meant to be worn, lived with, and appreciated for a lifetime.
